The
future of lighting is inextricably linked to solid state devices
and in particular high-power LEDs. These devices will light up the
21st Century, make sure you are in a position to benefit from our
experience.
Recent advances
in manufacturing techniques and device design have increased the
luminous efficiency (the ability to convert electricity to light)
and lifetime of LEDs. Today a single 5W white LED is capable of
producing 120 lumens with a lifetime rated at between 50,000 to
100,000 hours. LEDs will soon begin to replace standard tungsten
filaments in all manner of applications, already LEDs can produce
21 lm/W compared to 25-30 lm/W for a standard filament lamp. Consultantnet
can design the electronic circuits needed to supply these high powered
LEDs and take care of the thermal issues that often limit the performance
of a new design.
Consultantnet
designers are designing optical components to harness the output
from high-power LEDs and put the light where it is needed.
